There is an overwhelming amount of negative reviews for Family Tree Maker for Mac version 3. Has anyone used it? I have been using FTM since version 1 in the 1980s, but I'm concerned it may be time for a change. If you've been using a Mac version of a software package, do you like it? What do you recommend?

I use Reunion for Mac which is specifically for Macs and not adapted from a PC version. I've been using it since 2007 and love it. Check it out at www.leisterpro.com. They also have iPhone and iPad apps which are useful on the go.

I love FTM for Mac. I started with it. I've purchased and tried Reunion, Mac Family Tree, Heredis and Roots Magic for Mac and I found all of them glitchy and not clear functioning in searching/researching from within the program. If you have a Mac and use Ancestry.com I recommend FTM for Mac.

Connie, I think you win for the most programs tried! If you gave them all a fair try and came back to FTM, that says something....

I bought FTM to assure a smooth transition to my new Mac, but figure I'll get the jump on migrating out now that my data made that leap. I'm curious which one you'll migrate to now that FTM is leaving the market...???
