My main issue is that
I can't verify much about Lindsey Marshall to his father James
Marshall. Also, I think it would be reasonable that James Marshall
would be related to Edward "The Walker" Marshall, but I can't find
much about James Marshall either. Nothing published. Edward had 22
children and 2 or 3 brothers. Also, assuming that Edward Marshall was
one of the first to live in Bucks County, it seems very likely that
they are related. Unless, there were other unrelated Marshalls that
lived in Bucks at that time.
There is more, like Lindsey is shown as married to Nancy Mercer, which
I suspect is either true and she wasn't related to Gideon Mercer (the
guy that owned most of Manhattan Island) or she's entirely fictitious,
created by a relative around the time of the Mercer genealogy scams
when the Vanderbilts wanted to buy part of it and no heirs could be
found. Circa late 1800's. Which could also be why I can't find much
about Lindsey Marshall or his ancestry and also why I would like to
hire a genealogist on the ground in Bucks.
So, too much info! Maybe you could do a simple search for Lindsey
Marshall to find out when he was born, his parents, wife etc. Any or
all would be helpful.

There's no estate for James Marshall in Bucks County but there is for Edward and I'm afraid it suggests that James is not a son of Edward.
Bucks County Orphans Court File #998
Edward Marshall, Tinicum Twp.
Left a widow and fifteen children: William (eldest son), Moses (second son), Martin, Peter, Thomas, Edward, Catharine (wife of William Ridge), Jemima (wife of Isaac Newburn), Elizabeth (wife of Samuel Pidcock), Naomi (wife of William McCalla), Amy (wife of Thomas Tillyer), Mary, Ann, Sarah and Rebecca, all of full age. Jemima is also deceased leaving two children: Elizabeth and [blank].
A Moses Marshall died in Tinicum Twp. in 1772 but he also didn't have a son James.
A William Marshall died in Tinicum Twp. in 1757. He had no children but names his brothers Edward, John and Moses. So if your James Marshall really is from Bucks County, it would like like John is the only candidate to be his father.
John left no estate in Bucks County so I don't know what might have happened to him.
There is no John Marshall listed in early Bucks County tax records but a lot of these have been lost. There are two James Marshall's in the
1778 tax rolls - one in Upper Makefield Twp. and one in Warrington twp. However, by 1784, there are no James Marshall's on the tax rolls in Bucks County and like I said, there's no estate file either. So I have no evidence that James Marshall died in Bucks County.
I don't find any mention of a Lindsay Marshall in the records that I have access to.
