| Description | The Hatboro & Jenkintown Public Spirit was a weekly newspaper published in Hatboro and Jenkintown, PA between 1873 and 1970. Entries in the database from this newspaper include both obituaries and marriage notices published between 1911 and 1915. In addition to the date of publication, the abstracts contain for deaths the name of the deceased and date of death, place of residence, and in many cases the name of the spouse and/or parents of the deceased; for marriages they contain the names of the bride and groom, date of marriage, and in some cases the names of the parties' parents. The notices were abstracted and transcribed by Thomas G. Myers as a volunteer for the Bucks County Historical Society. The transcribed abstracts were donated to the Bucks County Genealogical Society by Mr. Myers with the kind permission of the Bucks County Historical Society. The original printed transcriptions are available at the Spruance Library of the Bucks County Historical Society. The death notices are searchable by the name of the deceased, maiden name of married women if given, as well as by the name of the spouse and/or parent if available. Marriage notices can be searched by the bride's or groom's name. |
