Join us for our in-person program to be presented by Deidre Pearson on the Underground Railroad - its scope, history, and ties to our area. The Continental Tavern, a way station along the Underground Railroad, provides history in itself as we gather for a meal. Cost: $38 per person includes house salad, potato salad, and choice of:
as well as soft drinks, coffee, tea and dessert. Please note that our luncheon is on the second floor. The Continental Tavern is old and historic, and not handicap accessible. | Our speaker will be Deirdre Pearson, a regionally known lecturer in black history. Deirdre received her B.A. in American History from Lincoln University. She taught history and special education during her 25-year career with the School District of Pennsylvania. She is well-versed in Black History, and has a special interest in the Civil Rights era of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. |
