Where:  Virtual meeting via Zoom (open to public)
Subject: The 1950 Census
Title:

Your Guide to the 1950 Census

The census is the backbone of genealogical research. Here in the United States it gives us a cohesive look at our ancestors every 10 years between 1790 and 1940. And now there is a new census on the horizon! The 1950 census is an exciting one because it may include your great grandparents, grandparents, parents and perhaps even you! It will provide opportunities to confirm some of what we already know and clues for new research.

The 1950 census will be released by the National Archives in April 2022. Now is the perfect time to familiarize ourselves with it and start preparing. In this session you will learn:
  • the interesting and little known stories behind the 1950 census,
  • what it can reveal about your family, (and who you will NOT find!)
  • the important documents associated with it that you can access right now!
